Engadget got their hands on the Eee PC T101MT, unfortunately it seem that ASUS have not made much progress from the T91! Here is the wrap up of the review:

What can we say? We wanted the Eee PC T101MT to be that perfect tablet / netbook mutt. But for $499, we simply cannot recommend it. Sure, you can upgrade to Windows Home Premium for a bit more cash, but at that point you’re spending $550 and still getting a pretty shoddy touchscreen experience. While the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t has a better capacitive screen, we found its performance and viewing angles to be pretty unpleasant. We wish we had better news, but we’re still in a place where we can’t say there’s a well-rounded netvertible out there. And for that, our search continues…

ASUS Eee PC T101MT review

Although we were a little more focused on Windows Phone 7 Series when we went to MIX 10, Microsoft’s other big announcement at the conference was Internet Explorer 9, which offers HTML5 support and support for GPU acceleration throughout the browsing experience. We saw a few demos of the system in action at MIX, but this video from NVIDIA does a little better job showing how helpful that extra GPU boost can be — IE9 running on the Ion 2-based Eee PC 1201PN smokes a regular Atom-based netbook across a suite of tests. What that’s going to mean for battery life is up in the air, especially since the GPU on an Optimus system like the 1201PN kicks in automatically, but it’s pretty cool to see a netbook browsing the web at almost desktop-like speeds. We won’t detail our murderous wrath for glossy netbooks, but we will tell you that ASUS is on our good side today by striking the shiny lid on its newest 10-inch Eee PC 1001PX in exchange for a carbon fiber-like replacement. The little guy boasts the same specs as the budget Eee PC 1001P — an Intel Atom N450 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive — and will be available in the US in May. And if you had any doubt that ASUS is after Acer’s throat in pricing, we’re told that the Windows 7 Starter model will be priced at an aggressive $299, while the XP version will only set you back a cool $279. In typical ASUS form, we’re hearing word of an Eee PC 1001PG that will fall into this same line, but will be equipped with 4G in most markets and possibly 3G and 4G stateside. Now, if only we had as much information about those brewing Eee Pads…

This post is the first one of the many that will speak about All-in-One Touchscreen Desktop PCs, which are gaining more and more popularity thanks to the increase interest in compact devices with touch support. Today we’ll talk about the latest announced models from the Asus EEE Top series of desktop All in Ones, the ET2010PNT, ET2010P, ET2010PN, ET2010AGT, ET2010AGT and ET1610PT models. The first five are 20 inch models and the last one is a 15.6 inch model, all touch, but not all multitouch enabled.
The ASUS Eee Top ET2010PNT and ET2010PN are powered by the Atom D510 CPU running at 1.66 GHz with Nvidia Ion 2 graphic chip, 2 GB RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium OS. The ET2010PN model has a smaller 320 GB hard drive (vs 500 GB) and no multi touch on the display. ET2010P uses the D410 Atom CPU at 1.6 GHz with Intel NW10 graphics and non touchscreen display.

ASUS Eee Top ET2010AGT and ET2010AG models are powered by Athlon X2 250u CPUs at 1.6 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 5470 512MB graphics. The ET2010AGT features a touchscreen display, double the RAM (4GB) and a 500 GB Hard drive. Both have HDMI and DVD burners. From what I understand all 20 inch displays have 1440 x 900 pixels resolution.
Eee Top ET1610PT is the low budget model, with a 15.6 inch screen, Atom D410 CPU, 160 GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM and Intel GMA 3150 graphics chip. Windows XP is the standard OS here. I would stay away from this model, even if it seems a cheap alternative is worth spending mode on a more potent models with touchscreen display.
Price and availability are still unknown but I bet it will be sooner rather than later this year.

Well beginning of April, you sure do like tablets for $499, don’t ya? While the Eee PC T101MT has been available to suave Europeans since February, ASUS has let out word that the 10-inch, multitouch tablet will start shipping in the US sometime in April for $499. Not a bad deal considering the Pine Trail-powered netvertible has been priced around 499 Euros overseas — though we’re unsure at this point of the final specs of the American T101MT and what version of Windows 7 it will boot. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for it at the usual retailers, but before you head out and buy one you may want to wait on our upcoming full review to see how this thing measures up to the other netvertibles out there.
